I picked Isaac up from preschool this morning and there was an envelope in his cubby written To: Mommy, From: Isaac. I, of course, ripped into it before we even got down the hallway and I found this little paper. Isaac had written his name, and his brother's for the first time and wanted to make sure I had it. I told him we would keep it forever! He's so smart!!!

Trey's Play
Despite being diagnosed with strep throat the night before, Trey did a FANTASTIC job at his program last night! His class were the bluebirds. They were all so cute!
He even had a speaking part...of course, he had failed to mention that to me. I found out from his teacher 5 minutes before the program started. He did awesome though! Made me soooooo proud!!!
Here is the video of my little bluebird. It's kind of long, but I had a hard time editing out anything. Did I mention I was proud of him?

Home on a Friday
So while Trey was at school, Isaac, Allie, and me were home having fun. Trey really hates that! That's okay, he has fun with his friends at school. Here's some videos of Isaac and Allie from yesterday.

"D" Date
Sickness rose its ugly head again this week and tried to mess up our "D" date. Trey came down with a raging case of strep throat so we decided to have a family date (believe it or not, it is very hard to get a babysitter to agree to come sit a child with strep throat.) We started out with dinner and daquiris. I thought they were very yummy so I let the kids have a tiny taste. Trey and Allie liked it but today I asked Isaac if he wanted some Kool-Aid and he told me he did as long as it wasn't the red kool-aid I gave him on our date. I guess he's not a fan of the strawberry daquiri! After dinner, we took the whole family to Krispy Kreme to get some of their yummy doughnuts! We went in and watched the doughnuts go into the oil, and then under the icing and all the way around until they were boxed. The boys were amazed. Allie...not so much! That's okay though, she loved eating them.
A family date was a lot of fun! A night out with the five of us was just what the doctor ordered...for Trey anyway. He woke up on Saturday morning feeling 100 times better. Isaac, on the other hand, is coming down with strep throat as I type. Maybe a doughnut will cure him too...it's worth a shot.

Let the Sunshine In!!!
Our family is enjoying this beautiful weather so much. There is nothing as nice as Trey coming home from school, doing his homework while Allie and sometimes Isaac finish up their naps, and then all of us heading outside for the rest of the afternoon!
The neighborhood kids all come outside and play so well together...most of the time. I love the springtime!!!

Our Little Science Experiment
So, on one of these unseasonably warm days, the boys were out playing in the sandbox. Trey came in asking me to look at their volcano that they had built, or their "bolcano" as Isaac calls it. That got the wheels turning in my head. I remember when I was little, we would make volcanoes in the old tractor tire sandbox we had. I used to enjoy it so much, I thought that the boys would love to see their volcano "erupt." We took some water, a few tablespoons of baking soda, and some red food coloring. We mixed it up, put it in a bottle and buried the bottle in their volcano (leaving the top exposed.) Then the boys got to take turns pouring vinegar into the bottle, making it spew "lava." They LOVED it! I'm not sure exactly when our backyard will stop reaking of vinegar though!

"C" Date...I give up!
Well, this past Friday, it was my turn to plan the date for mine and Vinnie's dating through the alphabet plan. I had the letter "C". Sounds easy enough, right? Well, my first idea was to go to a comedy club. The one that we've been to in Charlotte is now closed down so I had to go back to the drawing board.

Then, I had the best idea ever! Vinnie had been dying to go to this concert called WinterJam 2011. They had been in Charlotte but we couldn't work out our schedule to go. But this particular Friday, we could go down to Greenville, SC and see it there. I made all the babysitting arrangements and was trying to keep it a surprise. Vinnie figured it out about halfway through Friday but that was fine because he was super excited about it. We left Gastonia about 4 planning on getting to Greenville about 5:30 and buying our tickets, then going to find somewhere to eat, and then going back for the concert at 7:00. No such luck though...we hit traffic and by the time we got to Greenville about 6:30, the concert was already sold out!

It's a good thing, I really enjoy my husband's company, or the night may have been ruined. We stayed downtown and had some sushi at Takosushi. Love my sushi...if it begins with a "C" or not!

Finally, we ended up the night at a little coffee place called Coffee Underground. Neither Vinnie nor me are really into coffeehouses so we were a little skeptical. But they had great desserts, a really good frappocino, and a fancy schmancy cup of coffee for Vinnie. He had to pour it out of a french coffee press. Fancy, right?
All in all, we had a wonderful time and were glad to have visited downtown Greenville. It's a really awesome city! We'll definitely have to revisit. As far as me planning our alphabet dates though...I may just let Vinnie handle it from here on out!

So Big...
My sweet baby girl moved into her big girl bed tonight.
She was a little excited about it. Not sure how she's going to do actually sleeping in it. She thought it was just a big toy!
Of course we had to make it a family affair and take some pictures to commemorate the event!

She's growing up!
Allie is growing up way too fast! She's trying to talk, she's running, she's being a mess....all the time! It's so much fun to watch her at this age. Knowing that she is my last one makes me wish she would just stay little! Here's a video of her cute self.
He's a performer!
My sweet, sweet Isaac has started showing a real interest in music. He loves to put 5 markers together end to end and call it his "baton" and conduct his orchestra, which is really just me playing the fake drums on my lap and Trey playing a play piano. He loves to sing too. I could only get him to sing the one song on camera but I'll keep trying to get more. My favorite is his song about "Ikea." It goes like this...
Ikea was a wee little man and a wee little man was he. He climbed up in the sycamore tree for the Lord he wanted to see...
It's too cute. Anyway, here's Isaac with the song I was able to get on camera. Precious boy....just precious!

Go Eagles!!!
Trey is playing basketball for our church for the first time. Well, he played last year but the 4 year old team doesn't actually play games. It's exciting to watch! They don't keep score, but Trey keeps telling me that today's game was a tie. He's an awesome defender and came so close to scoring a couple of times! Check him out...

"B" Date
So, sometime last year, Vinnie and I decided that our dates had become entirely too predictable. We'd go to Lotus for sushi and then possibly to a movie. Not that we didn't enjoy it, because the company was wonderful (obviously), and who doesn't love a good plate of sushi? But, we thought it would be interesting to date our way through the alphabet. Our "A" date was a disaster thanks to Allie's pneumonia, Vinnie's flu, and my violent stomach bug. The "B" date was much better though! Vinnie planned this one and it went something like this...
Brixx Pizza for a little dinner...
And after we got home, he surprised me with this wonderful relaxing Bath. A perfect ending to an awesome night. Thank you, Vinnie, for a wonderful date!

Almost Famous
So, on Christmas Eve, my wonderful husband kept all the kiddos and let me go run some last minute errands. Needless to say, I did not dress my children to go anywhere special, or even comb their hair for that matter. Well, wouldn't you know it? That would be the day that they go to a hardware store with their Daddy and their PawPaw and get interviewed for the news. Isn't that just the way things go? They did a great job though and I couldn't be more proud of my little family!
Starting a Blog
Ok, I'm new at this blogging thing so bear with me. We're the Cherrys. I thought that blogging would be a neat way to keep up with our family that is growing up WAY too quickly if you ask me!
There's me (Tammy) and my wonderful husband Vinnie. We've been married for almost 8 years now and they've been, without a doubt, the best 8 years of my life!
Then you have my 3 beautiful children. I always knew that I wanted to be a mother when I grew up. What I didn't know is that it would be the most exhausting, frustrating, exciting, and rewarding job I would ever do. I'm so thankful that God has blessed me with these kiddos to raise.
Our oldest is Trey. He was born 6 days after our 2nd anniversary. He's 5 and in kindergarten (that's right...big boy school.) That was a big change for our family but he just LOVES it.
After many tries and much heartbreak, our family was blessed in July of 2007 with Isaac Lee (aka: O.Z., Ozie Wozie, or Mr. Destructo) He is all boy, and a wild boy at that, but has a wonderfully sweet heart. He's a handful and I wouldn't have him any other way!
Next in line is our little princess. Miss Allie Wallie was quite the surprise in our family, coming along 2 days after Trey turned 4 and when Isaac was just 21 months. She was the perfect addition though. She may look like a little beauty queen (which she is, most of the time) but she is tough as nails, thanks to her brothers "loving" on her all the time.
Anyway, this is our family, and this is our blog. My hope is that I'll be able to keep up with this and have a record for my children to look back and see. Hope you enjoy it too!
